“Why Aluminum?”

  • Aluminum is naturally more corrosive resistant than steel. Hence, they are perfect for applications near the sea coast, as salt and humidity tend to reduce the lifespan of steel shutters.

  • Aluminum shutters are lighter than steel shutters of the same dimensions.

  • Our Aluminum slats have an anti-deflection rib profile and are T5 heat-treated, ensuring that they are strong and resilient.

  • Our Aluminum slats are well-designed with protruding and receding ends that slip easily with one another. As a result, they are extremely rigid with no sag or waviness, unlike what is commonly seen with steel hoods.

Construction

Slats: The slats are made of 1mm thick, 77mm pitch and 18mm wide extruded double skin Aluminum slats. Our slats have an anti-deflection rib profile and are T5 heat-treated, ensuring great impact strength in the sections. The slats’ smooth and rounded profile and the addition of felt seals inside the guides helps facilitate friction-free sliding of the slats.

Bottom Bar: The bottom slats are 1mm thick, 77mm pitch and 18.9mm wide, and have a dovetailed profile to receive our special EPDM bottom weather seal.

Side Guides: The guide rails are 4mm thick heavy-duty extruded profiles of 110mm overall depth and 40mm width with a rear box section for strength. The guides profiles have internal grooves to receive the poly seals which keep away dust and ensure silent operation.

Heavy Duty Shutter: The heavy-duty shutter hood is made as laths of extruded aluminum of nominal thickness of 8mm and height 92mm. The profiles have protruding and receding ends, enabling the laths to slip easily with one another. This makes the external hood extremely rigid with no sag or waviness. The hood sits on the periphery of the end plates.

Main Support Bracket: The main support bracket plates are the elements that are subject to the main loading and hence are designed accordingly depending on the size of the shutter. Cast Iron bearing blocks are fabricated on to the end plates to receive and support the shaft of the Barrel or main roller.

Barrel: The barrels or main rollers are made of ERW pipe sections of diameters and thicknesses depending on the height and span of the shutter. The barrel is selected to have a maximum deflection of 0.8mm per meter length when subjected to the UDL of the slat curtain. As garage doors are usually powered by tubular motors,  one side of the barrel bears a welded shaft assembly while the other is prepared to receive the tubular motor.

Operation

Motor: Fully enclosed Tubular motor with a built-in gearbox, which is suitably selected based on the span and load of the shutter. Manual operation is also provided using a hand crank mechanism.

Control Panel: A suitable wireless receiver with provision to connect all the accessories including safety photo cell, external push buttons, flashing lights, RFID & AMR parking assist and more. The control panel can also be accessed using dedicated home automation apps and mobile phones for added accessibility.

M&E Requirements

1 Phase, 230V, 50Hz, 20A power supply

Options

Bottom seal cum safety edge that is activated when the door meets an obstacle in descent. The door immediately stops and starts reversing, ensuring safety.

Timers for opening and closing the shutters. Timers are an integral part of the automation.

Warning Lights that serve as a visual indicator when the door is moving up and down.

Photo cells that are installed 300mm above the floor. The light beam is always "on". When the beam is disrupted, the descending door instantly stops and reverses.

Additional finishes such as PVDF and others are offered. The default finish is polyester powder coating.
